Orthodontic Services

As part of his pediatric dental specialty Dr. Ashcroft was trained two days a week in limited and comprehensive orthodontic treatments. Having your child's pediatric dentist trained in orthodontics allows for a comprehensive treatment of your child's needs, which is beneficial to his/her oral health.

Dr. Ashcroft is in network with most PPO insurances which makes for affordable orthodontic treatments since our fees are negotiated by the insurance companies.

During your child’s regular pediatric dental visits Dr. Ashcroft will be able to assess potential jaw and tooth problems, growth patterns, regularly monitor your child's dental development and decide on the best time to start orthodontic treatment. Early orthodontic treatment is beneficial because a young child’s teeth have not fully erupted yet, which allows Dr. Ashcroft to address any potential problems as early as possible.

Early treatment aims to prevent certain oral issues from developing in the future and to guide the growth of facial and jawbones to prepare the correct spacing for permanent teeth. Some of the issues where Dr. Ashcroft will recommend treatment are:

  • Crossbites
  • Underbites
  • Teeth that don’t meet at all or meet abnormally
  • Crowded front teeth
  • Teeth that are spaced far apart
